Tehaʻapapa I
Tehaʻapapa I (c. 1735–1790) (Tehaʻapapa Fatu'araʻi Teri'i-tariʻa Te-i'oa-tua-vahine) was a Queen regnant of the island of Huahine.Tahiti and French Oceania: A Book of Reliable Information. Samuel Russell · 1935 She was the ruler of that island during the time Captain Cook visited the island and an ancestor of Queen Teha'apapa II. Biography She was born in 1735 and became queen in 1760. Her husbands were Chiefs Rohianuʻu and Mato Teriʻi-te Po Areʻi of Raiatea (both brothers). She died in 1790 and her successor was her son Teriʻitaria I. His father was Mato. She had a daughter Tura'iari'i Ehevahine, who was a queen consort of Raiatea. Her grandchildren were king Tamatoa IV and queen Teri'itaria II. Teriitaria I
Teriʻitariʻa I (c. 1769–1793) was the king of the island of Huahine located among the Society Islands, in French Polynesia. It is in the South Pacific and includes the island of Tahiti. Biography He was born in 1769. His parents were Queen Tehaapapa I of Huahine and Chief Mato of Raiatea and Huahine, and his sister was Queen Tura'iari'i Ehevahine. Teriʻitaria became a king in 1790 after death of his mother. He was deposed in 1793 by his half-brother Tenania. He died the same year. His niece was Queen Teriitaria II. Teriitaria II
Teriitaria II or Teri'itari'a II, later known as Pōmare Vahine and Ari'ipaea Vahine, baptized Taaroamaiturai ( – 1858), became Queen of Tahiti when she married King Pōmare II and later, she ruled as Queen of Huahine and Maiao in the Society Islands. Teriitaria was the eldest child of King Tamatoa III of Raiatea and Tura’iari’i Ehevahine, a member of the royal family of Huahine. In 1809, Tamatoa arranged for the marriage of Teriitaria and her sister, Teriʻitoʻoterai Teremoemoe, to their widowed second cousin, Pōmare II of Tahiti. Teriitaria became Queen of Huahine in 1815, but did not govern it during the first decades of her rule. In 1815, she fought in the Battle of Te Feipī, which consolidated her husband's rule. Teriitaria had no children with Pōmare II, but Pōmare fathered the next two Tahitian monarchs, Pōmare III (r. 1821–1827) and Pōmare IV (r. 1827–1877), by Teremoemoe. Raiatea
Raiatea or Ra'iatea ( Tahitian: ''Ra‘iātea'') is the second largest of the Society Islands, after Tahiti, in French Polynesia. The island is widely regarded as the "centre" of the eastern islands in ancient Polynesia and it is likely that the organised migrations to the Hawaiian Islands, New Zealand and other parts of East Polynesia started at Raiatea. A traditional name for the island is Havai'i, homeland of the Māori people. Situated on the southeast coast is the historical Taputapuatea marae, which was established by 1000 CE. Tehaapapa II
Maerehia of Ra'iatea and Taha'a (1824 – 28 May 1893), was a princess of Raiatea and Tahaa from the Tamatoa dynasty family, a Polynesian royal family. She was wife of Ari'imate of Huahine, founder of the Teururai dynasty which reigned on the Tahitian island of Huahine and Maia'o during the 19th century. She was Queen of Huahine and Maia'o and later Queen regnant in her own right. Comteporary sources seems to call her Teha'apapa I instead, disregarding the ruling queen by the same name at the time Captain Cook visited the island. Se was installed as Queen of Huahine in 1868 until her death in 1893.
